About

Diana Tran is a sculptor and illustrator based in Kitchener-Waterloo. Her practice focuses on creating narratives, inspired by her familial past through the usage of figurative tableaus. She uses historical photographs, ephemera and her own personal family photos as points of reference in creating her work. She has been especially interested in using clay and miniatures to reconstruct these memories. As a child of Vietnamese refugee boat people, she has found a lot of healing through creating art.

In her spare time when she isn’t working, she enjoys collecting postcards, taking care of her two cuddly chickens and listening to funky genres of music.
